ICJS (Inter-operable Criminal Justice System)

ICJS is a large-scale e-Governance initiative developed for the Government of India to enable secure data exchange and seamless integration across different criminal justice agencies. During my internship at the National Informatics Centre (NIC), I contributed to the backend development by designing and implementing RESTful APIs for multiple modules using Java Spring Boot and MongoDB while following government development standards.

Objective

To develop secure, scalable, and well-documented REST APIs that facilitate efficient communication between ICJS modules and provide reliable access to criminal justice data through standardized backend services.

My Contributions
  • Developed REST APIs for the Vehicle Type module using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Implemented GET and POST endpoints with request validation and proper response handling.
  • Built backend APIs for the Missing Person / Unidentified Dead Body module using MongoDB and MongoTemplate.
  • Integrated REST APIs with MongoDB collections for efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Performed API testing using Postman to verify request validation, response structure, and error handling.
  • Followed layered architecture and clean coding practices for maintainable backend development.
  • Prepared API documentation and ensured compliance with project development standards.
  • Collaborated with senior developers to review implementations and resolve backend issues.

Library Management System

The Library Management System is a full-stack web application developed using Java Spring Boot for the backend and React with TypeScript for the frontend.
